Wedding Month Prep
Let the countdown begin...
We're getting closer to single digits!
Now is the time to make sure those final touches and little details all come together.
Hey there, Beautiful!
You're big day is creeping up on us!
(deep breath, it will all work out perfectly!)
With your Bridal Trial session on the horizon, I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I am here for any and all your hair needs.
As a Bride-To-Be there is no better time to treat yourself. Now is the time to make sure your hair is in the best shape of your life. That means go ahead and use those extra wonderful hair products, spoil yourself with extensions, enhance your beauty with a fresh color, reduce that pesky frizz with a Brazilian Blowout, and don't forget to drink lots of water- nothing beats hydrated hair and skin!
I've put together some tips, tricks, and a few of my services that have been fan favorites of my past brides! Don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to book any of these services with me.
BONUS of booking my services: We get to meet in person more, and then I get to understand your hair, your likes and dislikes, and everything in between to help me bring your dream hair to life on your wedding day.
I've also included information on your "Getting Ready Timeline" (I like to call it more of a Guideline) and how to put it together to make your wedding day morning as smooth as possible.
If you have any questions or want to book any additional services with me, I'd love to get you on my books!
Happy Wedding Planning!
xoxo,
Bec
Don't let your beauty regimen fall short.
Here are a few things to help before your big day.
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
1.
Proper hydration is key to having the best lucious shiny hair. I know it sounds cliche, but drinking plenty of water can have a big impact on your hair, skin, and nail health.
USE PROFESSIONAL HAIR PRODUCTS
2.
If you've never invested in professional hair products before, now is the perfect time to try them! You don't need to go wild with an abundance of products, but a good Shampoo and Conditioner is key. If you want to get a couple extras I suggest a leave-in (conditioner, cream, or oil) and maybe a root lifter for some added body. Don't over think it. It's okay to stick to some basic staples.
MY RECOMMENDATIONS:

Shampoo + Conditioner:
L'ANZA Keratin Healing Oil Lustrous Shampoo + Conditioner

Leave-In:
L'ANZA Keratin Healing Oil Treatment (oil), Trauma Treatment (cream), or Moi Moi Moisture Mist (spray)

Root Lifter:
L'ANZA Root Effects
Deep Condition Your Hair
3.
Give your hair a boost of Strength, Moisture, and even added Body with a healthy treatment of a deep conditioner. On your wedding day, you'll reap the benefits with added shine! Either spoil yourself to a spa day and cozy up under the warm dryer for an in-salon thermal treatment, or get your own take-home deep conditioner and do-it-yourself while hanging on the couch making those final wedding plans.
MY RECOMMENDATIONS:

In-Salon:
Book a Thermal Deep Treatment

Take Home:
L'ANZA Intensive Hair Masque or Moi Moi Moisture Mask
Freshen Up Your Color
4.
Brightness around your face, toning down the brassiness, adding in depth, or simply touching up your roots can really make you start feeling and looking like "a bride!" This isn't the time to go and completely change your look (save that for after the wedding if you want), but definitely be thinking about what color you want to have in all those wedding photos!
Keep in mind: having a dimensional color, highlights, contrasting lights and darks usually helps your style 'pop' more. There is nothing wrong with a single one-tone hair color, but if you are wanting to make sure you can more easily see the intricateness of your style, adding a little dimension can always help, even if it is something as simple as a few face framing highlights.
Add Extensions for Extra Length and/or Fullness
5.
Extensions are a great way to achieve even more styling possibilities. Adding in extensions can allow for a larger "bun" for an up-style, or if you are wanting a down or half-down style, extensions can give your hair more fullness and length. There are many types of extensions. You can do a more temporary option such as clip-ins or a Halo, of which we would apply the day of your wedding as we are styling. Or if you want to wear them installed within your natural hair, Hand-Tied-Beaded Wefts are always a fan favorite!
If you'd like to order extensions let me know! We still have time to color match to your natural hair, order the extensions, and have them ready to go for your Bridal Trial and Wedding Day.
Eliminate Frizz with a Brazilian Blowout
6.
Are you worried about that midwest humidity causing frizz on your perfect day? Don't be. Schedule yourself a Brazilian Blowout and be stress free and frizz free! The Brazilian Blowout is a chemical treatment that smooths down your hair cuticles, adds shine, and gives you that "I woke up like this" wash-and-go lifestyle!
I offer all listed services and products at Bec Hair Studio. If you are interested in any, please reach out through text or email. I would love to help you get Wedding Ready!
Create your "Getting Ready Timeline"
I like to call this more of a "Guideline"
On your wedding day, don't stress if we switch it up a little. This is mostly a reference for us to stay on track.

1.
PLAN YOUR SHAMPOO
I usually recommend shampooing your hair within 24 hours before your Bridal Trial. That could be the day before, or maybe even the morning of. Using a good professional grade shampoo and conditioner, followed by minimal product (just an oil or leave-in, and maybe a root lifter would be great), and then a simple blow dry is really all you need.
TRUE OR FALSE:
Dirty hair is better.

FALSE. Dirty hair can work for some people, but generally speaking I can always dirty up clean hair. It's much harder for me to clean overly dirty hair. A day old hair is usually best, but please don't come with 5 day old hair that is sweaty from a hard gym workout!

I WANT YOU ON YOUR BEST HAIR DAY.
That might be day one, or that might be day two. Whatever day is YOUR best hair day - that's what I want to work with!
2.
THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU WEAR
To make envisioning your full look easier, wearing something nice is always helpful, but keep in mind you don't need to get super dressed up. Usually a white or cream color can even give it a more "bridal" feel. A neckline that would be similar to your dress is always a bonus!
3.
GET A FEW DIFFERENT INSPO PHOTOS
It's okay to like elements from different styles. Don't feel like you need to find one photo and that's the complete style. If you aren't sure exactly what you are wanting, bringing options of up-styles, and options of down styles can be helpful. In order to get the most realistic idea, It helps to try to find photos of hair similar to yours in thickness, length, color, etc.
FUN FACT:
While searching, you might find lots of photos of Blonde hair. Blonde's usually photograph a little better as it shows more light contrast to reveal the intricateness of the style. That's okay! Don't let this deter you from ideas. But do keep in mind, if you are a single tone brunette, the style might appear different than it would on a dimensional color or blonde.
4.
BRING ALONG YOUR EARRINGS + ACCESORIES
Nothing completes the look like adding those final touches of your hair accessories and earrings. It's not a necessity to bring these items, but you are more than welcome to as it always adds a nice touch! Don't forget, to bring your hair extensions if you have them.
PLEASE NOTE:
You are welcome to bring your veil, but keep in mind, the trial session takes place in my hair studio where I also do cuts and colors. So there might be loose hairs that get on your veil. To keep it cleanest, I would recommend leaving your veil at home.
5.
YOUR TRIAL IS THE PRACTICE RUN
It's important to remember your trial is for us to figure out exactly what you love and make sure you're happy with the style overall. When finished, we might find little "tweaks" that we want to adjust. Remember, that is the purpose of the trial. On your wedding day we will spend the entire time perfecting that style to last all day long!
At your Trial session we will...
Go over all your hair inspo photos to find your perfect look
Style your hair in a "preview" of your wedding hair
Get the Final Head count of styles + Discuss your "Getting-Ready Timeline"
Take photos of your Trial to refer to on the Wedding Day
Discuss forms of payment
